Lucia pulled out another tooth on Sunday! This is her third, and it was very loose. So we used cousin Westen's tooth-pull-method and tied one end of a string to her tooth, and the other end to her stuffed animal cat, "Posabell" (she has her name because the little tag on her collar says "poseable", which Lucia promptly read and interpreted as her name). Then she threw her cat across the room, and out popped her tooth!
That night, the "toothfairy" came to visit, and since Lucia hadn't placed the tooth under her pillow, but put it in a little container inside her treasure drawer, the fairy left her a note saying she'd had quite some difficulty opening the big drawer and finding the tooth inside, etc. She also left her a shiny dollar coin in the little container inside the drawer. Lucia figured out pretty quickly that I had posed as the toothfairy and played a little game with her. :-)
The next morning, Lucia checked out the coin full of hope that it might be a chocolate coin! To her disappointment, it wasn't, so she very politely said, "Mama, next time you leave me a coin for my loose tooth, could you leave me a chocolate coin instead?"
So then I explained to her that the special thing about real coins is that you can choose what you want to buy with it, including ... chocolate coins! So we explored all the things she could buy with her coin: stickers, stuffed animals, a new barbie, treats, markers, etc.
Then she said: "Mama, do you know what I would like to buy the most with my coin? I would love to buy a prince if one was available."

Hmm... not sure if princes, were they "available", should be buyable. For some reason that would give me cause for concern. I hope some day Lucia finds her prince without having to pay him. ;-)
