First up: Rhea.
Rhea and I have a little routine before her nap time. Every day after lunch, she gets to pick a book to read with me for some quality one-on-one Rhea-targeted time. While she finishes up eating and gets the book thing figured out, I put Alexa down so we can focus with no interruptions. :-)
Today, she was delighted to show me her book of choice: a non-fiction book from the library titled "Money - All about earning, saving, and spending money". I asked her if she was sure this was the book she wanted to read, and she was very sure.
So I began by reading her the title: "Money - All about earning, saving, and spending money."
Rhea, enthusiastically: "Ooooooooh! Spending money!!" (Already?!?!)
(She was very curious and attentive during the whole book. Yesterday, her book of choice was a non-fiction book called Europe. Hmm. Is this going to be a trend?)
Next up: Lucia.
Lucia disliked one of the (likely) grumpy or sassy looks Rhea gave her yesterday, so she lectured her with these words:
"Rhea, don't you frown at me like that!! Imagine when you're standing at the altar some day and the priest asks you, 'Rhea, will you take this boy and marry him to be your husband?', and you frown at HIM like that, now THAT wouldn't be GOOD!"
(me, in my head: "?!?!")
Along these same lines, here's one of Lucia's most recent artistic creations. (Background information: Our good friends, the Bredenbergs, sadly moved to Seattle a few weeks ago. We are still mourning their departure, some of us more intensely than others.)
