Alone Again

Sadly enough, the day has come when David had to return to work and thereby fly home.  Due to Alexa's bout with pneumonia, the rest of us are still here.  Our tickets have been postponed until March 26, when we can finally go home!!  We are having a great time here (with exception of the hospital drama), but after 8+ weeks we're looking forward to the Texas climate, our routine and the kids' space.  It would be wonderful if Papa could still be here with us... then it would feel more like an extended family vacation, but now that he left and our family is apart again, it just feels like we need to get back to "normal" soon.
Regardless, we're thankful for so many little things ... including Alexa's little attitude that's starting to show.  It's gonna have to be dealt with, but for now we're celebrating that she has the strength and energy to try to get her own way. :-)  I have a feeling that she's related to her sister Rhea... :-{  (And yet ... they are each wonderful and sweet in their own way.)

It's too late tonight, but soon I'll be posting some of the fun pictures of our time here... including our week skiing in Austria!!  We were so happy that Alexa recovered enough that several different doctors, whom we had asked about canceling our vacation plans, encouraged us to go ahead (as long as we didn't exhaust her by having her outside for too long at a time).  It really was a great time; we had beautiful weather and lots of snow.  What a great way to end our family time and get our minds away from the weeks before!
