Happy Big 4th Birthday, Rhea!

Our sweet Rhea-Bea is now officially 4!  Where has time gone?!  This is still unbelievable to me.  In my head, she is still little, because she has been ever since her birth defined as the "little sister".  But she is getting big fast!
This day has been anticipated for a loooooong time.  Rhea has been announcing to all sorts of people, known and completely unknown, that "soon I'm gonna have a birthday and then I'll be 4!!!"  Thankfully, we had a wonderful get-away vacation the two weeks leading up to her birthday (more on that later!), which helped shorten the time. :-)
We got back from our vacation on Wednesday evening, after a long 6 hour delay at the Chicago O'Hare airport.  We were all exhausted, including Mama and Papa but not enough to skip the traditional birthday eve decorations. :-)

Rhea, you are most certainly our family's sunshine!  We love you with all we've got, and having you around is absolutely delightful!  You are sweet and cheerful and definitely the silly sister!  You still love playing with words, love to to laugh and giggle (frequently about somewhat inappropriate things :-) ), and love to rile up your sisters. :-)  You love everything that's girly, sparkly, pink and purple.  You love accessories and everything that's little, tiny, special and cute.  From morning to night, you are in the treasure collecting business, and some day it's going to make me gray.  Oh wait, it's already started! :-)  I have somewhat given up on keeping little pieces of things together, because now that I know how much they mean to you and how much pleasure you derive from your treasure collecting, having a "set" of whatever it is "all together" (which would bring ME the most pleasure) would pale in comparison.  So... seize the day, enjoy the treasures, make the memories, have the joy.  You're OUR treasure. :-)

Good morning, Birthday Girl!

Special-order birthday breakfast: Waffles.  Umbrella courtesy of Rhea herself.  Even waffles have to be accessorized.

Papa stayed home a little longer to be able to take part in your birthday breakfast celebration.

SO proud to finally be 4! :-)

Hugging her new, pink, sparkly birthday shoes, which she almost wore to bed that night. Do we know our Rhea, or what?! :-)

And here is a little picture tribute to the space and time you've already crossed in your short four years of life.  We're so blessed to be able to call you our little girl!  Thanks for joining our family!!

First picture (and only one on your real birthday) we have of our second-born baby girl

Your big sister was so proud to hold you - her life would be quite a bit less fun without you! :-)

Getting to know and love your Papa

This has been going on for a loooong time already. :-)

 Sweet baby

One year old!  "Happy birthday to me!"

At the time we had no idea how true this shirt would prove to be. :-) And look who's already accessorizing...

Your buzzies have come a long way, too.

Some little elf kept ringing the doorbell...

Have I mentioned you are getting SO big SO fast?!  Slow it down, sweet girl!!
