Fun With Oma!

Just in time for Oma's arrival and the Christmas spirit to really take hold, we got snow! Lucia was delighted (so was Rhea), so we took advantage of it that first weekend and went sledding. Playing the piano with Oma... or... keeping Oma from playing the piano. :)

We all went to "Streets of Bethlehem" at a local church, which was really fun. They do a great job every year, with camels, goats, sheep, chickens, donkeys, and great costumes and decorations. Lucia still talks about going there, except it took us a while to figure that out. Sometimes, when we turn out of our subdivision (95% of the time we turn left), Lucia will point to the right (where we didn't turn) and say, "Mama, that's the way we have to drive to go to Heaven." We were all a bit confused for a while until we figured out that she thought we (briefly) went to Heaven that night when we saw the streets of Bethlehem, culminating in a short stop at the stable with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. And yes, she was right, David had turned the other way that evening when he took back roads to go to that church. (Have I mentioned this kid has a better sense of direction than her 29-year-old mother?!) :)
Lucia wasn't all that sure about the funny looking lady with the baby goat.
Another fun activity was working on our gingerbread house

Lucia loved helping with all the decorations

Loxley helped Oma wrap some Christmas presents

And Lucia and Oma showered us with Christmas cookies

Finished product, complete with light inside. :)

Christmas lights are on, snow is on the ground, Opa can arrive and with him, Christmas Eve. :)

Loxley's first paws-on experience with snow. :)
