Not sure if I already posted these pictures, but Alexa figured out how to pull up on things and get her hands onto all sorts of new stuff! So proud of herself! Yay for another milestone, and a tear for another phase left behind.
Grandma and Grandpa took us all to the County Fair! Lucia and Rhea were delighted to get to go on the carousel.
The girls tried their hands at rope-making. Rhea needed a little help turning the crank, but they both got to take their own ropes home!
The girls obviously enjoyed the animals. :-)
Alexa was captivated by the balloon given to her by the Republican table.
Rhea and the chickens exchanged a few secrets. (She would make her Tante Esther proud! :-) )

Our next destination was good ol' Wisconsin!!! More or less as soon as we crossed the border, this was the weather greeting us "home". :)
The girls were SOO excited to see their old friends, and generally having a ball in the back seat. That was such a fun drive, even though I had all three girls by myself!
First stop: The Lutz' -- Evan was so kind to let Rhea and Lucia sleep in his big bed while he and Mason slept on the floor in his parents' room. Here we had story time before bed. Rhea was SO tired (since she had gone without a nap on our travel day) and was asleep within seconds of finishing the last page.
She made good friends with Basker, er... Baxter. (She had trouble saying his name correctly at first, much to Mason's dismay, who tirelessly corrected her by monotonously retorting "It's-not-Basker-it's-Baxter," everytime he heard her mispronounce his name.) :-)

After our stay at the Lutz' (unfortunately, I didn't get any picture of Papa Marc), we visited our other friends for 3 or 4 days, but, to my dismay, my camera battery died and I wasn't able to get any pictures at their house!! We had fun there, too, and went on a Children's parade together. Visiting our friends was so much fun, refreshing to my soul (and the girls'), and provided some great conversation time. Thanks again, friends, for having us!! :-)
