Lucia is 7!!

Friday was Lucia's 7th birthday!  It's hard to believe that we have a 7-year-old in the house these days... these years are flying by, and we're having so much fun!  (Most of the time ;-) )

Unfortunately, David had class Friday night, which meant he wouldn't get to see his big girl at all on her birthday, unless we spent some family time in the morning and made sure we had breakfast together.  So we planned to surprise Lucia and take her out for French toast at Le Peep.  Here we were getting ready to wake her up (which we NEVER do otherwise). :-)

Baby sister couldn't wait (she had been talking and excited about Lucia's "pawdy" for days!), so she climbed to the top of the bunk bed and was the first to give Lucia her birthday hug!
 Papa wasn't far behind...
All dressed and ready to go to Le Peep, but first we had to get her picture by the gift table.  The rose is from her best friend Mena's family, given to her the night before her birthday.
 Waiting for breakfast to arrive.
 Three special sisters.
Then, the waiter brought out a complimentary cinnamon gooey bun with 7 candles in it!  We kept trying to figure out how in the world he knew it was Lucia's birthday (the presents?!), and how he figured out that she turned 7!  It will remain a mystery... ;-)

Then Papa had to leave for work, so we ladies went home and Lucia wanted to try out her roller blades right away. :-)  I've had those tucked away in the closet, waiting for a birthday or Christmas for almost a year... she was thrilled!  We'll have to keep practicing... this made me want to dig mine out of a box and put them on again too (which I haven't yet)!
After a few errands, naps, lunch, and then some play time at the lake, we came home, had showers and supper, and then Lucia checked the mail box.  Another gift, surprise, surprise! :-)  Thank you, Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Skinner!  (It still blows my mind that our girls have 3 GREAT-grandparents!!  What a blessing!) :-)

This girlie can't resist a book. :-)  I'm sure she'll enjoy doing these puzzles.... thanks for thinking of her!
A happy day, with more excitement ahead!  Watch for the next post about her science party! :-)
