Memorial Day Weekend Fun

Our day started out with the girls helping Papa open a really big box that came from Amazon on Friday.  What could it be?!

 Oooh!  A tent!!

Then we had a leisurely breakfast of eggs, sausages and biscuits, after which Alexa requested a baby dance party with Papa in the living room.  (I married such a good man. :-) )

...which quickly turned into a girlie dance party. :-) 

Then, after nap time, Alexa began setting up the tent. :-)

Rhea and Papa soon joined to help her...

And then Lucia came home (and brought some friends along ... seems to be a constant these days. :-) )

The kids couldn't have been any more excited about the tent. :-)  Great little helpers setting it up.

For supper, we roasted hot dogs, had corn on the cob, watermelon, and invited the neighbor girls to stay and eat with us.

That little picnic table is getting put to good use!

And before anyone feels too badly about Rhea not sitting at the picnic table: she chose the playset table. :-) Papa enjoyed keeping her company.

After we sent the friends home, we had s'mores - it was getting pretty late and we also didn't have enough supplies for all. :-)  We'll have them over another time for s'mores.

We all slept in the tent, some better than others. :-)  Alexa probably got the least sleep of all, but she recovered very quickly with a good nap and early bedtime the next day.  So, so grateful for a long weekend to enjoy together as a family.
Saturday we ended up going to the lake again (I may share some of those pics in the next post.)  Love having time together!  Such a treat these days...
